While attending the University of Central Florida, I began working in local and state politics — first as an intern in the Florida Legislature, where I saw how decisions made in Tallahassee ripple back into people’s lives at home. I went on to work on campaigns across Central Florida and later managed a Florida House race. Those experiences taught me how to organize, how to listen, and how to build coalitions rooted in trust and shared purpose. Most importantly, they showed me that real progress starts with meeting people where they are and earning their confidence.

<h2>Bipartisan Criminal Justice Reform</h2>When communities across Florida were demanding accountability and safer policing after the murder of George Floyd, I helped deliver results.As a Legislative Aide, I worked directly with Democratic and Republican leadership, law enforcement, and community advocates to help pass HB 7051, Florida’s bipartisan police reform bill.The bill passed the House and Senate with zero “no” votes before heading to the Governor’s desk.I am proud to have directly worked on three major provisions that were originally filed as standalone bills under Rep. Dote Joseph: mandatory excessive force reporting, a duty to intervene, and a duty to render medical aid.Being progressive doesn't mean being performative. It means knowing how to organize, negotiate, and deliver real change — even in a Republican supermajority.That is the kind of leadership I will bring to Tallahassee.

Florida families are paying too much in rent, insurance, and medical bills — and too many people in our community are one emergency away from financial ruin.I’m running to deliver universal healthcare, more affordable housing, better wages, and tax relief for working families — so everyone can afford to stay and raise families right here at home.

The Platform

I later served as a Legislative Assistant in the Florida House, where I saw firsthand how challenging it can be to turn good ideas into real policy — and how important persistence, preparation, and collaboration are to getting results. In the wake of the George Floyd protests, I worked on the criminal justice reform package passed in 2021, pushing for accountability and fairness in a system that too often fails our communities. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I also helped constituents navigate Florida’s broken unemployment system, working directly with families who were struggling to get the help they deserved. Watching that system fail people in real time reinforced a simple truth: when government doesn’t work, everyday people pay the price.

Florida’s immigrant communities are being targeted for political gain.Laws like SB 1718 and other anti-immigrant legislation have made families afraid to drive, seek medical care, or report crimes. Workers essential to Florida’s economy are being treated like criminals instead of neighbors.This doesn’t make communities safer. It makes them more vulnerable.I support repealing anti-immigrant laws and passing comprehensive reforms like the Economic Prosperity and Immigration Act, which would:<ul><li>Expand access to state-issued ID so people can drive legally and carry insurance, making roads safer</li><li>End state mandates forcing private employers into E-Verify systems that disrupt local economies</li><li>Create an Office for New Americans to support workforce integration</li><li>Prevent local law enforcement from being forced to act as ICE agents</li><li>Restore due process protections</li><li>Prohibit discrimination based on immigration status</li><li>Ban masked immigration enforcement except when necessary for safety</li></ul>

We need an approach that values the dignity and economic contribution of immigrants—not just as workers, but as integral members of the larger Florida familyI'll fight to block state cooperation with mass deportation efforts, restore in-state tuition for Dreamers and TPS holders, and repeal anti-immigrant laws like SB1718 and the TRUMP Act.

Bad growth planning hurts everyone.When development is approved without infrastructure, communities deal with gridlock, flooding, rising housing costs, and declining quality of life.We also need real transportation options.
