Affordable Housing
Florida’s housing crisis didn’t happen overnight — and it isn’t an accident.
For years, Tallahassee politicians have prioritized developers and corporate landlords while working families got pushed further and further out of their communities. Rent skyrockets, wages don’t keep up, and young families can’t afford to stay where they grew up.
And even when the state does have money meant to help, politicians raid it.
Florida’s Sadowski Housing Trust Fund was created specifically to build affordable housing and help working families become homeowners. But time and again, Republican leadership has diverted billions meant for housing into other parts of the budget instead of using it to lower housing costs.
Meanwhile, corporate investors buy up homes, raise rents, and squeeze communities for profit.
As your State Representative, I’ll fight to:
Fully fund the Sadowski Housing Trust Fund for affordable housing
Incentivize workforce and starter-home construction
Stop corporate investors from monopolizing housing markets
Support tenant protections and eviction prevention programs
Expand first-time homebuyer assistance
