Florida’s immigrant communities are being targeted for political gain.

Laws like SB 1718 and other anti-immigrant legislation have made families afraid to drive, seek medical care, or report crimes. Workers essential to Florida’s economy are being treated like criminals instead of neighbors.

This doesn’t make communities safer. It makes them more vulnerable.

I support repealing anti-immigrant laws and passing comprehensive reforms like the Economic Prosperity and Immigration Act, which would:

• Expand access to state-issued ID so people can drive legally and carry insurance, making roads safer

• End state mandates forcing private employers into E-Verify systems that disrupt local economies

• Create an Office for New Americans to support workforce integration

• Prevent local law enforcement from being forced to act as ICE agents

• Restore due process protections

• Prohibit discrimination based on immigration status

• Ban masked immigration enforcement except when necessary for safety
