Florida has experienced some of the worst mass shootings in the country, from Pulse to Parkland — and still, politicians refuse to pass common-sense gun safety laws.

Communities shouldn’t have to live with constant fear. Kids shouldn’t practice active shooter drills as a normal part of school.

Gun violence prevention is about protecting families while respecting responsible gun ownership.

I’ll fight to:

• Require universal background checks for all gun sales

• Strengthen licensing and safe storage requirements

• Ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines

• Fund violence prevention and intervention programs
