Public schools gave me opportunities my family couldn’t afford on our own. And for many kids, school is where they get stability, support, and sometimes even their only guaranteed meal of the day.

But Florida politicians have turned schools into political battlegrounds instead of focusing on what students and teachers actually need.

We’ve seen classroom censorship laws, book bans, teacher shortages, and underfunded schools — all while politicians push privatization schemes that pull resources away from neighborhood public schools.

Our students deserve better.

I’ll fight to:

• Raise teacher pay and retain educators

• Fully fund public schools

• Provide universal free breakfast and lunch for students

• Expand career and technical education opportunities

• Keep politics out of classrooms and trust educators
